But this time, why not take a look at the newly revised tariff plan called MTN Xtra Value Carte tariff plan. MTN Nigeria has definitely set the precedence, which has ensured that all GSM networks in Nigeria have no choice than to follow the laid down standards.
Competition has no doubt ensure that customers get more value for th eir money. This is evident in the arrays of tariff plans that operators have on the ground. The capacity to make a choice is a beautiful thing, take for instance, when you have just one or two prepaid plans to choose from, it makes it difficult and you will have no choice than to settle for less.
MTN Xtra Value carte tariff plan can be said to be an adjustment on the Xtravalue tariff plan we have known and grown to love.
To make it easier for you, let me explain what MTN Xtra Value Carte is. Therefore, what is XtraValue Carte?
MTN Xtra Value carte is a tariff plan that allows you the total freedom to choose from a rich bouquet of national, international, roaming voice & data services to form a personalized bundle.
How does MTN Xtra Value Carte work
Prepaid and postpaid customers are eligible to use MTN Xtra Value Carte, however postpaid customers will not be migrated but will be able to enjoy the bundle while on their tariff plan.
Additionally, customers will be able to buy at least a minimum of two different bundles and not more than 5 bundles.
Each of the MTN XtraValue bundles cost N1000. You will be able to purchase multiple of the same bundle and or different bundles at ONCE. BUT you will NOT be able to buy another bundle until the bundles have expired. However, you will be able to top-up your bundle when it has exhausted.
For example, you can purchase, 2 Voice bundles, 1 Data bundle and 2 IDD bundles at once. But you will NOT be able to buy another bundle until it has expired. However you can top up your data bundle or IDD bundle when you have used up to 90% or when you have exhausted the bundle.
Customers will also enjoy the flexibility of matching and mixing when they activate any of the available bundles – voice bundle, data bundle, international destination bundle, roaming voice bundle, and roaming data bundle.
Lastly, you will not be able to top up your roaming bundles.
Charges on MTN Xtra Value Carte Tariff Plan
MTN Nigeria has been generous with MTN Xtra value carte in the sense that it is almost unbelievable to believe one could make calls to any network for just 45k/second. This gives us N27 per minute to any network in Nigeria.
Imagine purchasing an N1000 voice call bundle and you get a value of N4100. Remind me again, how many minutes or hours you can get before exhausting N4100? This is pretty much, it is safe to say you can not go wrong with XtraValue Carte. Local SMS is also charged at N4.

How to migrate or subscribe to any MTN xtra value carte bundles
- Download the MyMTN App from the play store apple store if you have not already done so.
- Open the app. From the app’s interface, click on “bundle”
- Select “Build Your Bundles” and choose from the lists.
- Once done, you will be automatically migrated to MTN XtraValue Carte plan and your bundle account will be credited with the value.
