By making your vehicle available for inspection at any centre in Lagos, you are ensuring the safety and comfort of everyone. This will also guarantee some level of trust from the public which may lead to earning more money.

Bolt inspection is not free, you are charged NGN 1,200 for the service. This inspection centre opens from Monday to Saturday between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Requirements for Bolt Inspection

Bolt drivers must go with all complete vehicle documents.

How to get started for Bolt Inspection

1. Pre-examination

It is important to examine your vehicle beforehand to avoid wasting your time. Although much of it would still be checked, but you still want to make sure everything is the way it should be.

Service quality is expected and you can be sure that your vehicle will be thoroughly checked.

Below are some of the things that will be checked by Bolt Inspection Centres:

1. Brakes and Suspension: the team will carry out an investigation on the brakes and suspension which will centre on the condition of shocks, noises, vehicle alignment, and park light engagement.

2. Functionality: Aside from previously discussed, there are also other functionalities that the inspection centre will want to take a moment to look through. A test will be conducted on turn indicators, brake lights, dashboard electrical components, and headlights.

3. Electrical components functionalities: Other things that will need to be checked are some electrical components, such as AC, car horn, floor & foot mat condition, wipers, stereo, mirrors, and whether the car is odor free. All must be working as expected.

4. Fluid level check: The inspection team will also take a look at vehicle fluids, which are mostly the engine coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, power steering fluid, and cabin air filter.

5. General safety check: Bolt will also want to ensure that the fire extinguisher, jack and accessories, hazard warning triangle, and spare tyre are all available and in good condition.

6. Cosmetic check: Lastly, the bolt inspection personnel will check the interior and exterior of the vehicle to determine if they are in good condition. A check will also be performed on the trunk to determine if it opens and closes easily.

3. Pay the bolt inspection fee

Without the inspection fee, you will not be attended to. Once you are now at your chosen inspection location, you will need to pay N1,200.

Once successful, the inspection agent will attend to you and conduct a thorough inspection. Upon completion, your report would be delivered to your email.

However, do note that the Autogenius inspection report is only valid for 6 months. Once it elapses, you will need to bring the vehicle for another round of inspection.

4. Upload Document

As an existing driver, you are to upload your inspection report. This can be done by going to the driver portal on your bolt app.

The doc can be scanned or taken by a good phone camera. Ensure that it is clear and easily read. Failure to do so may result in you re-uploading the document again.
