Indeed, the charge for using the MTN Share and Sell service is minimal, and it serves as a safeguard against potential misuse of the service.
To ensure the security of your phone and prevent unauthorized access, MTN provides a PIN for the Share and Sell service. Changing this PIN ensures that only you have access to the service unless you choose to share it with others.
MTN Share and Sell can be useful, especially in environments like schools, where you may need immediate cash. You can sell a portion of your airtime balance for cash.
It’s important to note that MTN only allows the transfer of credit in Naira amounts and not in kobo. For example, you can transfer NGN100, but not N100.56.
If your credit balance is insufficient to cover the amount to be sent and the associated charge, the transaction will be declined.
For postpaid customers, they can only send airtime when their balance is positive. If their balance is negative, they will not be able to send airtime until the balance is restored to positive.
How to transfer MTN airtime to Another (MTN share and sell)
Step 1: Have the amount loaded
You must have a sufficient amount in your main balance. Note that bonuses or balance in your other balance won’t is allowed to send airtime.

You can change your MTN pin by sending an SMS with Default pin New Pin New Pin to 321.
i.e SMS 0000 1345 1345 to 777
Another way to change your default is using USSD Code. Dial *321*default PIN*New PIN* New PIN# on your phone and then click on send/press ok. i.e dial *321*0000*1234*1234# and then send/ok.
Immediately after you send the code, you will receive a confirmation message informing you that your pin has been successfully changed.
Step 3: How to transfer MTN airtime to families and friends
There are two methods to transfer Credit, one is through SMS Method or USSD.
To transfer through SMS, You will type Transfer, Recipient’s Number, Amount and PIN to 321. i.e send SMS with ‘Transfer 08031234567 1500 1234’ to 321.
Upon sending the SMS, you will receive a message asking you to confirm if you want to make the transfer by typing, “YES” and send to 777

The USSD works like a charm, it is cool and fast. You don’t need to navigate into your SMS before sending.
Just dial *321*Recipient’s Number*Amount*PIN# on your phone and then click on send. i.e dial *321*0803134311*100*1234# and then send.
