UOFT Webmail: How to access the U of T webmail log in

The University of Toronto has a weblogin service called UOFT Webmail. The login portal is a passage to web services offered by the school.

To access the various services aimed at making all students better, you are going to need a UTORid or JOINid along with your password. The UTORid or JOINid is not different from NetID or Username that most schools would rather call it.

All students who have successfully submitted an online application to the school will get an acknowledgement electronic mail from U of T along with information about the user ID.

Once you have activated your UTORid or JOINid, you have access to a wide range of services from UOFT including ACORN, library services, and Uoft webmail.

  1. Visit https://join.utoronto.ca and tap Login to the JOIN U of T Website.
  2. Enter your JOINid and password.
  3. Tap Login to access JOIN U of T.

What is a JOINid?

The JOINid is an identifier that students applying to the University of Toronto (UOFT) can use to login and access certain websites or services associated with the school.

join.utoronto.ca and the housing portal are among the websites you can log in to using the JoinID.

What you need to enable Uoft JoinID

Below are some of the information you need to tender when you can enable JoinID online:

  • JOINid.
  • Date of Birth
  • U of T Applicant/Student Number
  • Undergraduate applicants will provide OUAC Reference Number while Graduate Applicants will also tender ORPAS Reference Number.

How to enable Uoft JoinID

1. After receiving your JoinID, visit https://www.utorid.utoronto.ca/enable from a browser.

2. Enter your JOINid and applicant/student number.

3. Tap Continue.

4. Follow the online instructions to enable your JoinID.

When will I obtain my JOINid?

After submission of your online application for admission, you should get the JoinID within 5 business days.

What is UTORid?

The UTORid is an identifier used by current and old students of U of T. It is not easy to identify the difference between the two, JOINid and UTORid. In a simpler explanation, applicants make use of JOINid while U of T admitted students use UTORid.

JOINid is limited in terms of services that applicants can access. But with UTORid, you will be able to access more services such as ACORN, UTORmail, Campus Wireless, Library Services, and Quercus. Having more on UTORid has to do with being a bonafide student of U of T.

What is a TCard?

The Tcard is an ID used by UofT students for academic purposes. You can think of the Tcard as a school ID card as it will carry your photograph, barcode, UTORid, and student number. The Tcard is used for identification and verification purposes as you may be asked to present it when the need arises.

The card will also be requested when you want to make use of any of the school facilities or some certain services such as online learning portal, libraries, exams, athletic facilities, meal plans, etc.E

The cost of obtaining the card is free. However, if you need a replacement card due to theft or whatever reason, you will need to pay a $20 fee.

If you are an online student, there is no reason for you to get a TCard as the card only provides access to on-campus services.

Who can use a Uoft Tcard?

All admitted students, faculty, and staff of the University of Toronto (Uoft) are entitled to own a Tcard. If you are a student, you will only need a physical TCard. Your Tcard is active throughout your entire stay at UofT.

What is the difference between TCard and TCard+?

The Tcard is the physical identity card commonly used by UofT students while the Tcard+ is an online program for adding value to your TCard. This value can be used to buy or purchase at any of the UofT Bookstores or participating food locations.

1. How do I obtain an unofficial copy of my transcript from U of T?

The University of Toronto does not issue unofficial transcripts to students. Meanwhile, you will be able to access and print your academic history by visiting the Academic History page after login into ACORN.

2. Will my eTranscript be automatically updated in the future?

The etranscript is not that different from the paper transcript. This is an electronic copy or a snapshot of your complete academic record as of the production time. Therefore, the etranscript will not be updated as your record changes in the future.

If you are in doubt, you could always check your academic history on the ACORN page to confirm if it is complete at the time of making the request.

3. How to order an eTranscript without a UTORid?

There is no way you can order an eTranscript without a UTORid. Therefore, you need ACORN access and for that, an account must be created.

Creating an account is easy, you can visit the University of Toronto Parchment Storefront to sign up for an account. Once your account has been created, it is then you will be able to order eTranscript from U of T.

During the registration, you will need to provide a Government-issued ID card along with your first order.

4. How can I reset my UTORid password?

If you had set up the forgotten password utility when creating the UTORid, then it will be easier for you to reset your password online.

To reset your UTORid password, go to https://recover.utorid.utoronto.ca from your browser, enter your UTORid and click Next. Follow the online prompts to reset your password.

However, if it was not set as at the time of UTORid registration, the option available for you is to go in person to one of the Help desks on any of the three campuses. From there, they should help you with resetting your passwords.

To apply for Uoft housing, visit the Student Housing Portal to get started. If you are a newly admitted student, you will need to create a record.

8. How to enroll or add courses?

The platform to add or enroll in courses is on the ACORN page. From the page, you will be able to add courses to your cart anytime before the enrolment period. The cart will hold on to the added courses, making it easier for you to add them on your start time.

The enrolment start time is always posted on the ACORN, endeavor to check the page from time to time. The start time will be on your dashboard, within Courses, or at the Enrol & Manage section.
